KBS 드라마시티의 극본 공모 당선작 시리즈 중 첫번째 작품인 '홍시'가 어제 방송되었는데요...
저는 몰라 뒤늦게 보게되었는데 HD TV 화면도 넘 아름다워 보게되었는데 아무래도 화면들이 낯설지가 않은거예요.
마지막에 여학생이 선생님을 따라 기찻길을 마구 달리는데
바로 '용궁'역이라는 팻말이 서 있는거예요
아쉽게도 드라마가 금방 끝나버렸는데
엔딩자막에 장소협조란에 용궁, 경북 예천이라는 글씨가
올라가 너무 반가웠죠
여러분들 다들 아시죠?
'용궁 중학교' '경북 예천' 등등...
촬영 일대가 그곳에서 모두 이루어졌나봐요

Notes concerning the film: Replaying Akira with supernatural elements, DB is a beautifully designed but confused Gothic tale with a slow pace and nonexistent ending, based on the 1985 novel by Demon City Shinjuku's Hideyuki Kikuchi and filtered through a 1993 manga adaptation by Bride of Deimos's Yuho Ashibe. Concerned with the soul rather than the body, it takes many liberties with place and time, such as doors that don't necessarily lead to the same room twice. This is a film loaded with symbolism-flowers shedding petals, people turning into statues, spiders spinning red webs-but like its rebels without a cause, it says a lot but doesn't really mean anything. Its best creation is Darkside himself, even down to his voice in the Japanese edition, which was done by male impersonator Natsuki Akira. Even the foley editing of his footsteps implies the sound of hooves, most noticeable when he's walking up to a seedy hotel. His first appearance, a hell ride through the dimensions, is a masterly touch, but one that was done better in the opening scenes of Shutendoji.

Despite lush designs and a moody, suspenseful beginning, the animation and color palette get progressively cheaper as the film goes on. The same can be said for the meandering plot, which begins with a compelling mystery but soon finds itself sprinting for the finish, failing to cram the original story into the running time.

Plot: A twelve year-old street urchin named Tetsuro Hoshino desperately wants an indestructible machine body, giving him the ability to live forever and have the freedom that the unmechanized don't have. While machine bodies are impossibly expensive, they are supposedly given away for free in the Andromeda galaxy, the end of the line for the Galaxy Express 999, a space train that only comes to Earth once a year.
The series begins with Tetsuro and his mother making their way to Megalopolis where they hope to get jobs to pay for passes for the 999. Along the way however, Count Mecha and a gang of "human hunters" kill Tetsuro's mother. Before she dies, she tells him to continue the journey they started, and to get a machine body to live the eternal life she couldn't.
Intent on killing Count Mecha to avenge his mother, Tetsuro meets up with a beautiful woman, Maetel, who is the spitting image of his dead mother. Maetel offers him an unlimited use pass for the 999 if he will be her travelling companion to which Tetsuro agrees. Along the way, Tetsuro has many adventures on many different and exotic planets and meets many kinds of people, both human and alien, living and machine. Increasingly, Tetsuro realizes that a machine body won't fix all of his problems. In fact, most of the machine people he meets regret the decision to give up their humanity.
Eventually, Tetsuro and Maetel reach the Planet Prometheum, the final stop for the 999, but Tetsuro learns that it is ruled by the Queen of the Mechanization Empire, also named Prometheum. She is Maetel's mother, and controls the planet by entirely mechanized human components. Maetel's mission was to bring young humans for that purpose. Queen Prometheum plans on transferring Tetsuro's consciousness to a bolt for the heart of the planet.
Tetsuro doesn't understand why he has been betrayed by Maetel, but Maetel has plans of her own, and seeks to destroy the mechanized civilization. With the help of her father, Dr. Ban (who was only named in the film), whose consciousness resides in a pendant she carries over her neck, Maetel destroys her mother and the planet. The movie concludes as Maetel rebels against her mother, Queen Prometheum, and with the help of Emeraldas and Harlock destroys Planet Maetel. The movie also delves into the true nature of Maetel which is only hinted at in the television series. The body she visited on Pluto had been her original human body. Her consciousness was transferred to a succession of human bodies—including, most recently, one cloned from Tetsuro's mother—thus allowing her to live in human form forever and, in a sense, travel in time. Also, while Maetel's pendant only contains the consciousness of her father, in the movie it contains his consciousness, as well as the consciousnesses of the countless brave young people whom she had likewise led as saboteurs.
Maetel and the 999 bring Tetsuro back to Earth. After a farewell kiss, she and the train head back into space, presumably never to return.

Ketika Soeharto masih menjadi Presiden Republik Indonesia, film PENGKHIANATAN G 30 S/PKI adalah sebuah film wajib putar di semua stasiun TV tanah air setiap tanggal 30 September. Film ini sendiri adalah versi resmi pemerintah Orde Baru yang mengisahkan tentang peristiwa yang terjadi pada malam 30 September dan pagi 1 Oktober 1965 di Jakarta.

Pada malam dan pagi hari itu, terjadi pergolakan politi...k di Indonesia yang kemudian berujung pada pergantian rezim pemerintahan, dari Soekarno ke Soeharto.

Film yang dibesut oleh Arifin C Noer itu dibintangi oleh beberapa artis terkenal kala itu. Sebut saja Ade Irawan, Amoroso Katamsi, Umar Kayam, dan Sofia WD. Dan film yang diproduksi tahun 1984 itu digolongkan dalam film berdurasi panjang dengan total waktu 220 menit dan dilatarbelakangi musik besutan Embie C Noer.

Sejak film itu diproduksi, Soeharto memerintahkan agar film berjudul lengkap PENGKHIANATAN G 30 S/PKI itu diputar setiap tanggal 30 September malam sebagai penghormatan pada tujuh jenderal besar yang tewas saat itu. Dan saat akhirnya Soeharto lengser tahun 1998, film itupun tak pernah lagi diputar di televisi Indonesia.

Dan memang hingga saat ini, PENGKHIANATAN G 30 S/PKI tak pernah lagi terlihat diputar di televisi tanah air. Namun, kita masih bisa menemukannya di YouTube saat search dengan kata kunci 'pengkhianatan g 30 s/pki.'

Meski begitu, film ini rupanya memberikan kesan yang begitu mendalam bagi yang pernah menontonnya. A psychopath in a welders mask bound and gags a naked woman to an auto body shop slab and proceeds to slowly spray paint her to death. If this wasn't an unusual enough means by which to murder another human being, it seemed to me that the director was shooting for something slightly erotic with the attractive naked woman getting blue body painted aesthetic. I've never seen a slasher movie where a naked woman got lovingly spray painted to death so I have to give Deadly Memories some weirdness points for that scene alone.

Then a guy is watching his girlfriend do a striptease while bouncing on a trampoline that just happens to be situated out in the middle of a rocky ravine when the killer opens fire on them with a rocket launcher from up high. He proves to have lousy aim but plenty of reloads. Rocket launchers - not your typical psycho killer paraphernalia.

I'm sure a lot was lost in the dubbing by trying to hard to made it appear that the Spanish cast was actually speaking English, yet the plot remains the same. Barbara Rey, Blanca Estrada and Margarita Merino, along with other women in bit parts offer more than this movies share of eye candy (except for some veiwers)perhaps. The older yet still regal Maria Perschy adds to film. Yet with all this octane the ridiculousness of the situation can make it a struggle to pay attention. Everything on the haunted galleon creaked horribly which added to the films annoying qualities. I give this one 3 stars because I have sat to watch so many films that I just had to give up on. This one however I had to see the end. Give this one a try. You can always turn it off.[endtext]

Pánico is a typical Mexican horror directed by Julián Soler in 1970 (IMDb is wrong about the year). It's a three-part anthology which invites comparison with the contemporary British Amicus releases such as Tales from the Crypt.

Story One, "Panic": A vulnerable young woman (Ana Martín) with strong maternal tendencies is chased into the woods by another woman with strong "insane thug" tendencies by the looks of her. The theme and dreamlike treatment is strongly prescient of "Madeleine: Study of a Nightmare" - in fact I half suspect the Madeleine crew reused some of the footage. A good story, perhaps a touch overlong, but with a satisfying ending.

Story Two, "Solitude" (17:50): This has two "prospector" type men paddling through a swampland fleeing a plague of some kind. Unfortunately the storyline was too vague and rambling to sustain my interest.

Story Three, "Anguish" (55:25): A respectable doctor invents a new anaesthetic which mimics death. But like all these scientists who like to play God (cf. The Asphyx) he doesn't think things through, and is careless with the potion to boot. An enjoyable if rather silly story, predictable, but that's how it should be. Except for the ending, which no sane person will see coming!

As many of you already know, the first Guyver film adaption wasn't too successful with fans and non-fans alike. Mainly because of the direction the producers chose to take the film into. Due to the success of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles the year before, producer Brian Yuzna & co-director Screaming Mad George thought they would the film would gain success if they tried to sell it to TMNT fans with a cheesy campy tone. Unfortunately for them, that didn't play out too well and the film received mainly negative reviews and reception from critics and fans.

A few years later however, Steve Wang who co-directed the first film, was given complete control to direct a sequel and thus made Guyver Dark Hero! A much more faithful and mature incarnation of The Guyver manga than it's predecessor. However, Guyver 2 didn't receive the theatrical release the first got. It was released straight to video in 1994 but since then has gained a cult status amongst fans, marking Guyver: Dark Hero a cult classic from the 90's.

According to David Hayter, he submitted an outline for Guyver 3 to Steve Wang after the conclusion of Guyver 2. But the rights to The Guyver reverted back to its rightful owners and Guyver 3 and the outline never saw the light of day.
